Meet Dr. Phil Higginbothom

Dr. Phil Higginbothom Dr. Phil Higginbothom (known around our office as "Dr. Phil") brings more than 35 years of specializing in orthodontics for children, teens and adults to Hannon Orthodontics.

Dr. Phil completed his undergraduate study at the University of Arkansas and then went on to the University of Tennessee, where he received his Doctorate in Dentistry. He obtained his specialty in orthodontics from St. Louis University where he received his Master of Science degree. He then opened his orthodontic practice in Spartanburg, SC, in 1972 and practiced there for 33 years.

After retirement, Dr. Phil decided to assist Dr. Hannon a few days each month and says, "It is enjoyable to be able to come to Dr. Hannon's practice, treat patients and enjoy the camaraderie with the staff, which is something I missed when I retired."

Dr. Hannon especially enjoys the days Dr. Phil is with him because they share the same treatment philosophy and enjoy a great time together with the patients and staff.

Dr. Phil is married to Marta, who is originally from Colombia, South America. We join Dr. Phil and Marta in feeling very proud and grateful for their son who is currently serving our country in the United States Navy. In addition, Dr. Phil and Marta have a daughter practicing law in Houston, TX, a son with an MBA degree from NYU, and two daughters living in Spartanburg, SC.

Dr. Phil is proud to be a member of the Spartanburg County Dental Society, the Piedmont District Dental Society, the Schulman Study Group and the American Association of Orthodontists.
